LETHAL FAKE MEDICINE offers a unique look behind the scenes of the global fight against the criminal business of counterfeit medicine. Interpol estimates that 50% of all medicine being sold over the internet is fake and up to a million people die every year because of it – either because the medicine doesn’t contain the beneficial compounds or simply because it is poison. The film highlights the importance for the international community to act united in the combat of counterfeit medicine and how essential it is to raise the consumers’ awareness of how dangerous it is to buy medicine online.
